I was reading a report from our friends at FleetCarma, which did a great job of collecting registration data for all different types of EV vehicles across the country and was curious just how many Teslas were on the road in Canada. By overlaying there data on the various provinces, I was impressed to see the total Tesla ownership across the country.
It turns out there is almost 7000 Teslas currently registered in Canada (as of March 2017), or 6910 to be exact. What was interesting is low adoption in the prairie provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Who knows if that might impact when and if we get superchargers along the TransCanada highway to link the West coast to Ontario.
It’ll be interesting to see these numbers grow substantially after the launch of the model 3.
